What is web-cp.net? Well, we're not the "original" web://cp project site (it has passed away). Neither are we a fork off of the original web://cp branch. We began as a group desiring to continue development of the code in an attempt to revive the interest of both the initial developers and new developers alike. The initial developers had been too busy to make any significant code updates since webcp-0.5.2 which was released in October of 2003 - but the beautiful thing about Open Source software (web://cp is GPL) is that anyone, anywhere can continue working on the code. That is what we began doing here. In June, 2004, the original website and forum knowledgebase for web://cp disappeared so this project has become an attempt to recover all that was lost while maintaining our goal which is to achieve a 1.0 release which is a stable, secure and full-featured control panel.

How can you contribute? If you can code you are more than welcome to submit bug fixes and new features. We will be making regular releases of our changes to the code and hope to eventually merge our improvements back into the main CVS. If you find bugs in the code, please report them using our Bugs link at the top of the page. If you are familiar with web://cp please help by answering questions in the forums, writing content for the manual and submitting questions to the FAQ section. Also welcome would be donations of hardware and/or Linux/BSD distros (with support) to the primary developers so that we may ensure the code runs well on many platforms. How can you get support? Because this is a free project, we do not provide support or warranty with the code. There are many developers and users (us included) who are familiar with installing and using web://cp. We are more than happy to answer questions as best we can. Start by reading the manual and the FAQ section. Then search the forums to see if your question has already been answered. If it has not, please post your question in the forums.
