48 yr high tech old fart....1st system was a 286-16w/1mb ram - 1st build was a 386-33w/4mb ram :) 3 months later. DOS 1.2 thru DOS 6.22 (i think) and deskview (multitasker software) Ran a 3 line BBS on a 2400, 14400 and 28800 modem - 1st network was Novell Lite (UGH!)P2P with workgroups (double UGH!!) Then i found access to ethernet (renamed internet later)and it was all downhill from there :)

I have an old friend that introduced me to slackware and have been playing with linux for about 10 years - tried RH, SUSE, Mandrake, Debian - but always came back to slackware. i don't really like GUI's unless its a desktop and slackware is made for servers :) (just an opinion)

i've learned that no matter how much i learn, i'll never know what i need to know to do what needs done....but i can learn it. There IS no test for life, but life IS a test.

I can only hope to do as good a job in the support area that these guys do with their coding.
